RocketReader Powers
Up Your Memory
Canadian psychologists Michael Pressley and Pamela El-Dinary comment that
people who process information efficiently are those who, ‘elect themselves
into situations likely to increase what they want to know’. By choosing
the RocketReader memory development program, you are making the choice
to become an EFFICIENT INFORMATION PROCESSOR. RocketReader is a
complete mind improvement package to challenge and develop your intellect.
While RocketReader teaches you to read at mach speed, you also need to
remember what you’ve read. Unlike other speed reading programs, RocketReader
also develops your memory; it contains entire
sections on memory development and memory testing. Thus, RocketReader
is actually two products in one convenient program! Even if you are not
interested in learning to read more efficiently, you could invest in RocketReader
simply for its memory development features.

You’ll notice that there are multiple benefits of using RocketReader –
as well as speed reading and memory development, you’ll improve your concentration,
and discover new words, new information, and new facts while learning at
YOUR MAXIMUM CAPABILITY. It’s fun, challenging, and educational.
It’s also suitable for a huge variety of users – students, professionals,
public speakers, clerical staff, and anyone who wants to remember more,
become more organized, or manage time effectively.
Why RocketReader is a necessary study tool
RocketReader is an invaluable study tool because it uses recognized
psychological techniques to target memory improvement and development.
Since the first group of Kansas scientists tested it in 1988, many psychologists
have confirmed that summarising is extremely useful for improving
memory. RocketReader uses the summarizing technique to teach
you the main ideas and key concepts in Maths, Chemistry, Physics, Science
and English from junior high to sophomore level.
If you paid for a personal tutor for your child over one year, you might
spend about thirty dollars a week on your child’s learning development.
This means you might easily spend over a thousand dollars each year.
When you invest in RocketReader, you receive a customized, convenient learning
tool to teach your child the fastest and most efficient learning techniques,
for a mere six dollars a week! This is a clear saving of more
than two thousand dollars every year. And the memory training is not just
for children, you can enter your own material
to memorize any topic, field or area, from college to professional
uses.
The RocketReader memory development can help you if you’re at junior
high school or high school, university or college, if you’re trying
to learn a new language or learning English as a Second Language, if you’re
a mature age student, a home school student, a special education
student, a gifted and talented student, or you’re a student with a learning
difficulty such as Attention Deficit Disorder and Dyslexia. Parents, watch
YOUR CHILD’S learning development really take off! RocketReader
contains thousands of multiple choice memory
questions in many different areas.
The facts you learn
with RocketReader will be useful long after you’ve finished studying.
You’ll always have USEFUL, EVERYDAY FACTS AT YOUR FINGERTIPS.
For instance, you’d like to know how to calculate the ‘area’ or ‘volume’
of an object when you think about how big the Yankee Stadium is, or how
much liquid a ‘pint’ container can hold. You’ll also need to know
how to spell ‘Mississippi’ to baffle your competition in your next Spelling
Bee, and that to calculate the distance from Maine to San Francisco, you
can use the time/speed/distance equation. By remembering such basic
pieces of information, you’ll have an advantage over others, forever.
"I AM VERY IMPRESSED!!
I used it for approx three weeks and was amazed at the results! It
really is a very impressive program and well worthy (sic) of the cost.
I'm suprised the cost is so low - it is worth 10 times the cost!."

Better grades with RocketReader
Good memory skills are essential for effective learning, whatever field
of information you deal with. As Canadian psychologists Michael Pressley
and Pamela Beard El-Dinary commented, “Although there are many educators
who decry that memorization should not be at the heart of schooling, it
is.” Your study time is more rewarding when you remember what you’ve studied
and recall it for later use. If you have twenty or twenty five contact
hours at school or college during the week, you’re probably expected to
do an equal amount of homework or studying in your own time. Imagine
how your grades would improve if you can learn
hundreds of main concepts taught in high school and beyond, as well
as memorizing your own facts with just a few
minutes’ effort each week. You would have a competitive edge throughout
school and college As well as BETTER GRADES, BETTER EXAM
PERFORMANCE and more effective study technique, you’ll learn ESSENTIAL
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS for today’s highly demanding world. In any
job, you must be able to understand and absorb new information which you
will need to recall at a later date. Invest in RocketReader and see
how much more effectively you operate as a student, employee, or in your
social and personal organization.
RocketReader provides the learning BUILDING BLOCKS
At school and university, you must understand, remember and be able to
use BASIC PRINCIPLES before progressing to more complex concepts.
You are less likely to succeed if you have not remembered basic concepts
or cannot apply them to higher levels of learning. For example, a
biology student cannot tell whether a particular species is an ‘arachnid’
or an ‘insect’ without first being familiar with the meaning of these
terms. Psychologist Quillian suggested that the memory works by sorting
information into a storage system, whereby the mind applies basic, familiar
concepts to facts presented in more difficult problems. The studies of
psychologists Dooling and Lachman demonstrated that an effective educational
technique is to show students an OVERVIEW OF BASIC CONCEPTS to be
covered in a curriculum. This encourages you to be FAMILIAR WITH
YOUR MATERIALS, and also teaches you how to organize them logically.
RocketReader puts these findings into practise with SOLID FOUNDATIONS
in ESSENTIAL AREAS OF KNOWLEDGE, like Maths,
Science, Physics, Chemistry and English. These show you what you’ll
need to know, teach you how to organize your knowledge, and prepare you
for more complex concepts. You can also learn basic concepts from
your own text file of definitions or terms.
RocketReader converts these to multiple choice questions which you can
use repetitively to gain understanding.

Long term memory
Since the 1950’s, psychologists have recognized the difference between
information which is PERMANENTLY STORED IN LONG TERM MEMORY, and
information stored in short term memory, which can be accessed only for
a few minutes or hours. Some basic information should stored forever
in the long-term memory and used on a daily basis in life. Many years
after you first learnt it, you still remember that seven times seven equals
forty nine, or that December has thirty one days. effective learning
of any material means STORING IT IN LONG TERM MEMORY. RocketReader
teaches you the fastest and most efficient techniques to achieve this.
You’ll LEARN NEW FACTS, learn your own
study materials, and improve your reading and memory techniques. This
could cut your studying time in half; you’ll have more time for rest and
relaxation, clubs and groups, and family activities.
Avoid study stress with RocketReader
Unlike other memory programs which teach you to absorb large amounts of
information over a short period of time, RocketReader actively trains you
to store valuable facts in your long term memory, rather than in short
term memory. Information stored in short term memory only remains
there for a few hours or days, no longer. This is why ‘emergency’
learning procedures such as cramming are a wasted effort. CRAMMING
IS A POOR STUDY TECHNIQUE because it does not store information in
long term memory. Although the memory can recall information it has
recently experienced (the night before an exam), less information is absorbed
because the memory must try to retain and absorb a larger volume over a
very short time period. Thus, not all information will be remembered
on the morning of the exam; your mind will be cluttered with information
which may or may not be relevant. You will not have had time to organize
information in your mind, and thus cannot transfer the most important parts
to the long term memory. Before, during and after the exam, information
which has been crammed will be lost because it was never actually remembered.
If you ever want to access the information again, you will have to relearn
it. Additionally, you may ‘burn out’ by attempting to absorb too much information
in too little time; your concentration levels and mental clarity will be
greatly reduced.
RocketReader means exciting, INTERACTIVE LEARNING
RocketReader encourages you to ABSORB, RETAIN AND RECALL INFORMATION
THROUGH INTERACTION with your materials. As eminent American
psychologist Peter Morris puts it, “...interaction is the key to improved
recall...”. INTERACTIVE LEARNING is the most efficient
means of storing information in the long term memory. Information
stored in long term memory is that with which you are familiar or access
often, that is, interact with frequently. For instance, few people forget
their name or telephone number because these are important pieces of information
which must be accessed frequently and have hence been stored in long term
memory. The most effective method of storing information in long term memory
is repetition. This means revisiting information regularly, or ‘REHEARSING’
it. Famous psychological tests undertaken by Huttenlocher and Burke
demonstrated that, “...superior retention...is usually attributed to rehearsal...”.The
concept of repetition and rehearsal is so important that, in psychology,
it is called the “REINFORCEMENT MODEL” of learning.
To learn a concept fully, you must rehearse it periodically. Each
time you rehearse the answer, the more thoroughly it is entrenched in your
long-term memory. With RocketReader, you can rehearse information
until it's been permanently stored.
Many students make the mistake of reading information without responding
to or interacting with it. In 1988, Canadian experiments were conducted
which involved memory of facts at university level. Psychologists
discovered that memory of facts was, “greatly improved” when students answered
questions about the facts they had to remember. Students could remember
the facts after answering questions, because the questions, “ask[ed] students
to think beyond the facts as stated and to construct reasons why the factual
relationships ma[de] sense”. In 1990, further tests demonstrated that QUESTIONING
CAN ALSO HELP YOUNGER STUDENTS, in Grades Four to Eight. RocketReader
puts these findings into practise. With the RocketReader memory test,
you LEARN INTERACTIVELY BY ANSWERING QUESTIONS AND LEARNING
NEW FACTS every time you use it. You are more likely to store
this in long term memory.
RocketReader also teaches interactive learning through repetition.
The more familiar you are with your material, the more likely you are to
remember and store it in long term memory. Thus, you can repeat tests
and answer as many questions as you like, to ensure perfect recall.
You can use this feature to learn any information. For instance,
as a salesperson, you could use it to learn your clients’ names. RocketReader
gives you FEEDBACK AFTER EVERY MEMORY TEST,
explaining which questions were answered incorrectly and supplying the
correct answer. This is a vital element of effective learning because
it responds to you as an individual (much like a real teacher) and gives
you encouragement and direction. The RocketReader response is much like
having a test marked immediately – you know where you have gone wrong and
how to improve for the next test. Feedback is also important in memory
because you become more familiar with the information after having ‘discussed’
it with a teacher. That is, you submit answers to RocketReader, which
responds with corrections and encourages you to reread the information
and seek the correct answer. Most busy teachers do not have time to devote
to individual students outside of normal classroom time. For specialized
one-on-one tuition you would have to pay a tutor for extra time, at approximately
ten dollars an hour. If you had an hour of tutoring once a week for a year,
you would spend over five hundred dollars. If you use RocketReader each
day over one year, you pay ninety cents a day for all the feedback and
learning you need to access for your learning success.

Limitations of flash cards
The RocketReader memory tests are not like old-fashioned flash cards.
Flash cards are not an effective method of learning because they do not
give cues to answer questions. If you do not remember the answer
to a question, you’ll have no chance of getting it right if you’re using
flash cards. If you are using RocketReader’s multiple choice memory
tests, however, you will come up with the right answer because you train
yourself to recall a partially learnt answer, and used repetition to INTERACTIVELY
LEARN new concepts. The selections act as a prompt for your memory,
‘kick starting’ it into remembering the basic facts. The diagram below
shows the results of an experiment conducted by American psychologist Nelson,
who queried whether his subjects were more likely to remember information
if they were given cues. He found that the subjects were twenty percent
more likely to remember information which was ‘cued’, and this increased
when all of the cues given related to the answer. That is, when all
of the cues were possible selections. Furthermore, Nelson found that
subjects remembered more information when they were more familiar with
it. They recognized the right answer because they knew the facts
behind the question. By being familiar with basic facts, you’ve already
made the CONNECTIONS BETWEEN QUESTION AND ANSWER in your own mind.
When you know the basic facts, you can work through possible selections
to find the right answer. With RocketReader, you will learn to identify
trick questions and consider all options carefully. This is invaluable
for multiple choice question format exams like the SATs, where technique
and familiarity with exam-style questions are as important as exam content.
A set of flash cards may cost you as much as fifty dollars. If you wanted
to improve your exam technique, you would have to pay for extra books or
tuition. This could cost hundreds of dollars. By investing
in RocketReader, you learn by using psychologically tested cued learning
techniques, and improve your exam technique and familiarity with materials,
while learning the basic concepts in a core curriculum of high school and
college subjects, for a sensible price of only ninety cents a day over
one year!
You can use the RocketReader memory tests on your OWN
STUDY MATERIALS, too; simply insert a text file. RocketReader
converts this to multiple choice questions so that you use interactive
learning techniques. The RocketReader memory tests can be used on
ANY MATERIAL IN A TEXT FILE FORMAT,
so the tests can benefit you if you use text, facts, lists, or formulas.
This can assist in learning for classroom quizzes, tests or exams, and
can even be used for learning new languages.
If you want to do some uncued memory training, RocketReader gives you
the option of rote techniques. Undoubtedly, you will have used rote
before – it simply teaches you the question and the answer, without any
interaction on your part or any cues. For instance, if you’re trying
to learn capital cities, rote tells you that Washington DC is the capital
of the United States, and that Paris is the capital of France. You
must make the connection in your mind without any help. It’s more
difficult, and less fun than multiple choice questions, but you should
be able to choose what sort of learning style suits you best. With
RocketReader, you’ve got all the options you need.
Why RocketReader beats books (and how you can beat your text books)
RocketReader beats memory development books hands down. This is because
RocketReader lets you LEARN AT YOUR OWN SPEED, but uses artificial
intelligence algorithms, to ensure you LEARN AT YOUR OPTIMUM CAPABILITY.
Unlike a book which expects you to learn the skills of memory with no feedback,
RocketReader gives you constant FEEDBACK AND ENCOURAGEMENT.
You will not feel like giving up with a friendly teacher by your side!
RocketReader contains thousands of memory testing
questions, so you’ll always be challenged, and its bright, user-friendly
interface design ensures that you will not be frustrated or bored.
Unlike a memory improvement book, RocketReader lets you use your
own materials for memory testing – your definitions, terms or facts
will be converted into exciting and challenging multiple choice questions.
Make memory development fun with RocketReader, and beat your books!

Do a few simple sums and realize how you can save money and time with
RocketReader. Other memory development books and personal tuition
may cost you thousands of dollars over the period of a year. Don’t
invest in limited, difficult learning. With RocketReader, you invest
in an interactive, fun, challenging program which will teach you new facts,
memory skills, and speed reading AND improve your concentration span, attention
level, spelling, vocabulary and keyboard familiarity. It’s a complete
product for only ninety cents a day over one year!
Memory in a flash!
RocketReader flash training can also help you to improve memory skills.
RocketReader uses a tachistoscope which flashes phrases and words onto
the screen, which you must remember, spell and repeat. This encourages
interactive memorization through user response. The RocketReader
flash training method is superior to old-fashioned flash cards because
it is truly interactive. You know the right answer instantly.
It also increases REACTION TIME, ATTENTION SPAN, CONCENTRATION AND HAND-EYE
CO-ORDINATION SKILLS. These are important additional skills for memory
development. As James Russell Lowell put it, “Attention is the stuff
that memory is made of.”
The development of attention span and concentration skills would
also be highly useful to young readers or readers with learning difficulties.
RocketReader uses an artificial intelligence algorithm in conjunction with
the tachistoscope so that you always learn at an optimal level; the program
speed adjusts automatically to suit the reader’s ability. The tachistoscope
flashes groups of words onto the screen at a speed which is adjustable.
For more challenging readings, you can alter the delay between each group
of words, so that a delay of twenty five seconds can be used for very fast
readers, and a delay of sixty seconds used for slower readers, and
there are many levels in between! You can also customize the
level of difficulty, so that you read simple or complex words and phrases,
including punctuation marks and capital letters. You
can read one to five words at once, and include names, places and questions.
Flash training can provide benefits to any user of RocketReader, as you
can set the data base to operate in basic or advanced mode, so that the
words you learn will always be suited to your level of ability.
College Exams made easy with RocketReader
RocketReader is a particularly useful study tool for college students because
you must absorb, retain, RECALL AND APPLY LARGE AMOUNTS OF INFORMATION
constantly. No lecturer waits for a student who has not done their
readings or cannot remember them! RocketReader’s speed reading and
memory tools will revolutionized your study technique by training you with
the unique tandem skills of speed reading and comprehension. By learning
to read faster, you can more adequately cope with your large workload,
and by reading with greater comprehension and recall, retain more of what
you’ve read and be able to apply it readily to tutorials, tests or exams.
You can use your own study materials in RocketReader’s
speed and memory tests by inserting them as a text file.

large amount of information rarely succeed because they simply cannot remember
which information is relevant, current or necessary!
While working in these fields, people such as lawyers and doctors must
CONTINUE THEIR LEARNING by confronting a barrage of NEW TERMINOLOGY, TECHNIQUES
AND DEVELOPMENTS constantly. Without an effective method of retaining
facts and definitions, learning would become walking into a steel trap!
Step out of the trap and watch your investment in RocketReader
pay for itself.
RocketReader trains your mind to be a steel trap for all of the facts you
need to learn at school, college and university.
For a small time outlay, you’ll develop the ability to absorb and remember
huge amounts of NEW INFORMATION OF YOUR CHOICE. Learning new
principles, facts and definitions is only a step away from ACADEMIC
AND PROFESSIONAL SUCCESS. With RocketReader, it’s in your grasp.

RocketReader - a workplace tool
Memory skills are useful in many areas of business at professional and
non-professional levels. In retail, for instance, recall of important
product information can make or break a sale. As a salesperson, knowledge
of your product can influence potential customers by establishing trust
and confidence in sales staff and the product. A similar scenario
applies to professionals, including, for example, doctors, lawyers, managers
and executives. Professional people must read and retain large
amounts of information, and be able to recall it instantly without relying
on text books or manuals. You may have to remember contact information,
numbers or definitions. You must also respond to individual client needs
and answer questions objections; this requires you to organize relevant
information. Administrative staff must plan and remember appointments,
schedules, meetings, telephone numbers and names, frequently without a
diary or planner on hand. You must be proficient at remembering instructions
and following day-to-day timetables, while you can reduce business errors
made by forgetting pieces of information. Recall of information can
aid in contributing to meetings, and retention of information ensures that
you optimize benefits from workplace training and development. Decision
making can also be improved by having sufficient information with which
to make decisions. With RocketReader, you can learn to remember:
contact numbers, terminology, email addresses, numerical/cataloging/filing
systems, file names/directories, extension numbers, pager numbers, room
numbers, policies, philosophies, facts and definitions. In fact,
you can remember any information you need to know by inserting it into
RocketReader, and answering multiple choice questions. It’s an easy,
fun way to improve your memory skills.

Public speaking – no drama with RocketReader
For many people, public speaking is a frightening experience. It
may be difficult to appear before a large group of people as the center
of attention, deliver a flawless speech and answer questions, respond or
field criticism.
Public speaking is also a necessary skill in any profession and in everyday
life. Most people must communicate with others on a daily basis in
a variety of encounters which require public speaking. These include
meetings, friendly chats, sales pitches, making agreements and decisions,
purchasing items in shops, and family gatherings. In short, all people
need to communicate effectively.
Effective speakers use particular techniques to assist their communication.
Some of the most important of these memory devices discourage you from
using aids such as cards. Speaking aids break the natural eye contact
between you and your audience, enforce the distance between you, and can
reduce your credibility. When you know your material, you are less likely
to need aids or be afraid of the audience, and can concentrate on establishing
rapport with them. This may include more eye contact, recall of names
and faces when answering questions, and the ability to interrupt a speech
to respond to audience feedback, elaborate on, or eliminate parts of a
speech.
RocketReader memory tools can assist speakers to develop a more effective
style of communicating by teaching speakers familiarity with their material.
RocketReader memory tests can be modified to accommodate any speech – simply
insert the speech as a text file. RocketReader uses markup language
to convert the speech into multiple choice questions, which encourage the
speaker to interact with your material and thus remember more of its content.
Efficient Communication in a Flash!
RocketReader flash training also helps speakers to develop communication
skills. An important part of communicating effectively is the ability
to absorb, comprehend and respond to new information, such as audience
questions or feedback. RocketReader flash training uses a tachistoscope
which flashes information at a gradually increasing speed, to challenge
the rate and amount of information absorbed. You must respond by
correctly repeating the information given in a test of photographic memory,
retention and recall skills.
